RPO Useful to Real Estate Business

Recruitment process outsourcing, or RPO, can be beneficial to any company that has reduced its recruiting staff, including those in the real estate business.

According to an article by RISMedia, recruiting in the real estate industry has fallen behind, even though increasing recruiting would positively impact the bottom line. Adding experienced agents that are able to produce is a key component of profitability and growth.

However, most brokers don't have the time to sharpen their recruiting skills so they can focus on hiring. One easy solution for brokers that don't have the time or resources to complete the hiring process themselves, but still want to hire, is RPO.

RPO is a form of business process outsourcing that allows employers to outsource or transfer all or part of the recruiting process to an external service provider. That provider should have the skills, tools, technologies and activities necessary to help their clients.

Phoenix Jobs Decline

As the area's unemployment rate continued to increase, more Phoenix jobs were lost during July.

During that month, the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale area saw its unemployment rate increase from 8.3 percent to 8.7 percent, which was lower than the national unemployment rate at the time of 9.4 percent. The area hasn't seen its unemployment rate decrease since April, when it went from 7.3 percent to 6.9 percent.

The area had a total non-farm employment of 1,691,200 workers during July, according to the United States Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is down from 1,711,800 workers during June and a 7.8 percent decrease from last year.

No industries in the Phoenix area managed to add jobs when compared to last year. The information industry was the only one to add jobs on a month-to-month basis, as employment in that industry increased by 200 workers.

The mining and logging industry employed 3,200 workers during July, the same as during June.

As is the case in many places throughout the country, the Phoenix area's construction industry took the biggest hit when compared to last year. The industry employed 103,300 workers during July, down from 105,000 workers during June and a 27.7 percent decrease from last year.

Florida Jobs Available with hhgregg

One company is looking to hire hundreds of people to fill available Florida jobs (Click here).

Hhgregg recently announced that it will hire more than 250 employees for new stores opening in the Tampa area this fall. The company is currently accepting applications for commissioned sales associates and manager in training positions.

"We are excited about our growth in Tampa and are looking forward to hiring new hhgregg associates to be a part of our team," Regional Manager Angela Larrabee said. "We welcome applicants with previous sales and electronics experience, but we also encourage those with a friendly and customer-service focused attitude, who may not have retail experience, to apply. Hhgregg has a comprehensive training program, which provides more than 200 hours of training each year to our staff."

While sales and customer service experience is beneficial to applicants, they must also have a friendly attitude and be focused on customer service. Those who are bilingual and speak Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply.

The added jobs should help the Tampa area's declining economy. During July, the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area saw its unemployment rate increase from 11.2 percent to 11.3 percent.

The area had a total non-farm employment of 1,151,800 workers during July, according to the United States Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is down from 1,164,500 workers during June and a 4.6 percent decrease from last year.

The State of Florida as a whole saw its unemployment rate remain flat at 10.7 percent, but nonetheless continued to lose jobs. The state had a total non-farm employment of 7,354,800 workers during July, down from 7,380,000 workers during June and a 5.2 percent decrease from last year.
