Recently
pre-employment background screening provider IntegraScan announced that it would be giving away $500,000 worth of free screenings to youth organizations across the country. With the budgets of many nonprofits being cut as a result of economic issues, some can no longer afford to conduct these employee selection procedures. The company's goal is to help guarantee that the younger members of this country are not unwilling exposed to dangerous people.
On July 1st IntegraScan put out a press release to announce the results of the first week of its Safe Kids Program. During these seven days the company gave away more than $100,000 in
background check services to nonprofit organizations.
According to the most recent press release, national statistics show that the number of background checks preformed on employees and volunteers has dropped at an alarming rate. Sadly, this is one of the areas of employment that most needs
employee selection procedures. If left uncheck, predators whose preferred victims are children and adults not responsible enough to care for youngsters will often end up working around them.
Since many of these individuals have a criminal record that would expose them as unfit to work with kids, simply running an investigation can keep an organization from hiring such a worker. IntegraScan is helping to fix the problems caused for these nonprofits by the lack of funding many are experiencing.
For the remainder of the month, IntegraScan plans to hand out around $400,000 to youth organizations. This large amount of money stands to make a real difference by reducing the risk to children and teens across the nation. Organizations interested in receiving free background checks should check out IntegraScan.com/SafeKids or visit the company's blog.
