Applicant Tracking System Helps Food Distributor

City Line Distributors, New England's number one independent full-service food distributor, recently announced its implementation of nowHIRE.com's Elite Business Edition applicant tracking system.

This move has allowed City Line to fully automate its hiring and onboarding process. The company, which was founded in 1930, processes about 2,500 employment applications each year. The company estimates that it will save thousands of dollars annually with the addition of the new software.

Before teaming up with nowHIRE, City Line used a paper-based application process. This allowed each applicant to provide different information, making the hiring process inconsistent. Storage of the applications and resumes also created a space problem. The new software allows potential employees to complete applications online or at a kiosk in the company's lobby.

“nowHIRE has made the hiring process more efficient and the system ensures all the necessary information is collected,” City Line recruiter Erica Blackmon said in a press release. “Now I can recall applications at the click of a button and search for applicants in the database without having to camp out at a file cabinet.”

nowHIRE's tracking software includes applicant pre-screening and qualifying, an advanced resume database, online background checks and a customized feature that allows for printable completed applications in PDF format.

“Our sweet spot is to offer fully customizable applicant tracking systems,” nowHIRE President Joseph N. Impastato, II said in the press release. “We will continue to meet City Line’s requirements and will upgrade their ATS as needed.”
