Jobs in Ft Lauderdale Area Created by Convergys

One international company is planning to create more than 100 jobs in Ft Lauderdale.

Convergys Corporation recently announced its plans to hire 118 full-time employees at the company's call center in Tamarac, a nearby suburb of Ft. Lauderdale. The employees will provide customer service support for a telecommunications client.

The company is looking for 18 employees who are bilingual in English and Spanish to work at the call center between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Those employees will receive up to three weeks of paid training, according to an article by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The remainder of the job openings will allow employees to telecommute. Candidates must have a PC, high-speed Internet, headset, and quiet work space. Those workers will receive two weeks of paid training and a two-week transition period at the call center before working from home.

Convergys is looking for applicants with sales experience, computer and keyboarding skills, and the ability to work flexible hours. Employment with the company is contingent on employment background checks, drug screening, and education and employment history.

The company offers its employees hourly wages and incentives. Convergys also offers great benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid and unpaid time off, and tuition reimbursement.

Convergys currently employs about 65,000 workers in 68 customer contact centers and other facilities in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, as well as the company's global headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.
